Purple tea is a rare species in Yunnan large-leaf tea. The tea leaf has a purple-red colour before it's harvested, and it's dark green when dried.   After being brewed in a cup, it turns into a blue-green, hence It is called "three-colour tea" by ethnic minorities in the Pu'er tea regions.

Zi Juan tea, purple bud tea, and purple tea have been sought after by tea drinkers for many years and they roughly refer to a type of finished tea. Dry tea has a dark purple colour. The colour of the brewed tea is also dark purple, with a taste of bean aroma, chestnut, fresh olive fragrance.

Taste: green tea, beans, chestnut, fresh olive fragrance.

Tea Leaves: hand-picked tea from 8 to 9 grade, light green and dark green.

Steeping - Puerh Tea

General Guide to brewing Pu-erh Tea

Steep Pu-erh tea in hot boiling water. The ratio of tea leaves to water is approximately 1:4 to 1:5. or 8 grams of tea to 125 ml. of water.

First steep for 5 to 10 sec and discard the water to clean and heat the tea leaves. Steep for 20 seconds, and lengthen the time for each subsequent infusion. 

The number of infusion can range from 10 to 20 times.
