Pu-erh Tea
Pu-erh Tea originates from dark tea produced in Puer City, Yunnan China. It is often made from loose tea (Maocha) compressed into various shapes and sizes. In recent years, aged Pu-erh tea has gained exceptional popularity outside of China. It is not hard to see why because of the health benefit it offers, and the experience it offers is likened to drinking a glass of fine wine.
There are many types of Pu-erh tea but it is generally classified into "Raw" or "Ripe" Pu-erh tea due to the way it is processed. Raw Pu-erh tea is made of green tea leaves (Dianqing) fermented in a natural way. Ripened Pu-erh tea goes through an extra fermentation process where loose tea is piled and high moisture is introduced to speed up the fermentation process.
The general benefits of Pu-erh or Dark tea are stimulating, diuretic, fat burning and antibacterial effects. It also helps cancer prevention, treatment of degenerative and cardiovascular diseases, stimulating heart function, strengthening the immune system and therefore contribute to longevity.
Pu-erh tea, in particular, helps to balance and counteracting fatty food in our diet. Its purging quality helps to regulate the body and stimulate digestion. It also helps to lower cholesterol from your body.
