In the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, Pu-erh tea was produced in large state-owned tea factories and estate tea farms with short tree shrubs to now being produced in smaller private-owned factories and farms with wild grown old arbor trees.
As the market expanded, and collectors and enthusiasts became more aware of the quality of tea coming from these smaller factories, the tea industry instead sourced tea leaves from wild grown old arbor trees throughout the famous terroir regions of Yunnan to meet the demands of these collectors and enthusiasts.
With this shift in the market, The Tea For Connoisseur series (TFC) was developed. It was created with the aim of providing high-quality products from the perspective of tea connoisseurs and enthusiasts. This TFC series Yee On Tea Co. is offering are limited production, single estate and made with broad leaves from old arbor trees. Each tea cake in the series is created with a different recipe and processing method to give each tea cake its own set of characteristics.
